We envisage that in due course the site and any data that you give us will be moved into the ownership of a dedicated community interest entity. In the meantime, your use of the site is governed by the terms below.

The following terms and conditions govern your use of the information contained in or available through this website. By accessing this website you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.We do not warrant or represent that the information and data contained in this website is accurate, current, complete or suitable for your purpose. Taking into account the fact that all information on this site is provided without charge, we will not be liable to users of this website for any losses or damages, whether direct, indirect, special or consequential where in contract, tort or otherwise arising from this website or any linked websites for whatever reason (excluding death and personal injury caused by negligence on the part of the Company).Your use of this website is governed by English law and the English courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from or in connection with the use, misuse or inability to use this website.

Information Collection and Purpose

We may process the following categories of personal data about you:

  • Communication Data that includes any communication that you send to us whether that be through the contact form on our website, through email, text, social media messaging, social media posting or any other communication that you send us. We process this data for the purposes of communicating with you. Our lawful ground for this processing is our legitimate interests which in this case are to reply to communications sent to us, to keep records and administer our communication with you.

  • Information and data that you give to us related to your willingness to attend, sponsor, set challenges, or otherwise contribute or support Hack the Lakes. We may collate aggregate, and cross reference this information for the purposes of proving demand for and, in future, organising an event. As part of this it may also be used for purposes related to ensuring the safety, security and wellbeing of any attendees, organisers and contributors. Our lawful grounds for this processing are our legitimate interests which in this case is the promotion and management of an event, and consent which you may be explicitly asked for as part of the sign up process to the event.

Sharing Your Information

We only share your personal data with the parties set out below:

  • Professional advisers including lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers

  • Our IT service providers as data processors

  • Where we are required to do so by law

  • We may at a future point transfer this enterprise and endeavour to a dedicated Community Interest organisation which will take forward the operation and organisation of

    . Should this happen then all of the data you have given us will be transferred to that new organisation. Before doing so we will ensure that the terms of the privacy policy of the successor organisation are consistent with this one under which you supplied that data.

Your data will not be used for any other purpose unrelated to the  Hack the Lakes  project by Aplisay Ltd, nor will we give, sell or lease your information to third parties for any purpose not stated above.We have put in place security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, altered, disclosed, or accessed without authorisation. We also allow access to your personal data only to those employees and partners who have a business need to know such data. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they must keep it confidential.We have procedures in place to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach if we are legally required to.

Data Retention

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.Should the  Hack the Lakes  project not move forward, then we will retain any data related to this site only for as long as is necessary to perform any residual communication as part of winding up activities.
